1. Why do you think is it important for HR to be a strategic partner to the business?
After reading the lecture, I would think that the reason they have HR as a strategic partner is so they have them actively involved in the design and development of the business strategic plans. Another aspect of becoming a strategic partner with the business is demonstrating support for organizational/business strategies through alignment with those strategies. Such alignment puts HR in a better position to deliver value, which thereby demonstrates credibility. Increasing credibility leads to increased trust, which cements the HR department's position as a strategic partner in the organization. (Robert Fulmer, 2006) Many people including myself always thought HR as "paperwork pushing" but in actuality it plays an important part of the organization and the business, HR is a successful contributor like any other part of the business and they have strategic goals and processes. Having HR's involvement will also give the business more of a mentoring when it comes to problems and or issues because HR are very qualified to resolve problems when they arise. Examples of key questions asked as a strategic partner is "What abilities do HR personnel need so that they can understand and respond to short-term and long-term market demands? How do we organize HR activities to deliver maximum value?" Having traits like these will help strengthen the business and with that, it makes them an important part of the organization.

I think employees and myself will feel that there is more involvement and that we are updated consistently and constantly. HR will also be able to present with more assurance, when providing information regarding their findings in combination with the goals of the business. I think the arrangement will also help HR to be more aggressive in certain aspects of things, such as setting more goals for themselves and the business. I think the overall structure in the organization will be more organized and the flow of communication will be much better which will cause employees to have a sense of worth within the company. Another benefit would be that HR will be better prepare to train new employees because they have a lot more involvement in business they have more things to cover with the new worker when being trained. In addition to new hires, HR will understand the needs of the business and will look more accurately on what kind
