Organization: a group of people working together to achieve certain objective.

Resources: Land, labor, entrepreneur, machines and equipments, capital and material.

To sum it up it is physical resources and Human resources.

Resources are 6 Ms

Man

Materilas

Market

Method

Machine

Money

Assets make things possible but people make things happen.

Back to the organization definition.

People are working together means that they could be in a team or not.

Organization is a system so, elements of the system affects each other.

Management: Process of utilizing the resource efficiently (and acquiring it as well).

The important part of management is in utilizing the resources.

In HR Management: Another dimension is added beside the utilizing and acquiring, the dimension is retaining.

Acquiring an employee costs from 5000 to 50,000 $.

People get used to the place after the first 6 months

People leaving the organization is harming as: will give bad moral to the team, going to competitor, loosing his/her expertise.

Performance Vs Citizenship:

Performance: is doing my job

Citizenship: is doing extra step even out of my job description

Note performance is not correlated with citizenship as doing extra work does not mean I'll perform well in my original performance.

Organization objective: financial goals and people goals (external people are customer and internal people are the employees).

Problems associated with objectives:

1- That the objective of the organization is not well communicated to the employees (so it is very important to communicate the objective in the orientation.).

2- The employee objective is not communicated in the way of how it is related to the organization objective (relating the organization objective to the employee objective leverages the importance of the employee objective to the employee him/herself).

Organization people are manager and subordinates (employees).
