On trust

There are things that take years to form and can not be broken down so easily. For instance a strong oak tree that has lived through many harsh winters or suffered through droughts and storms. Or how about something a little more abstract. A strong true love between two people can not be destroyed. We see this in our every day life, but this also got me thinking. Do all things that take time to make require much strength and struggle to bring down. There is something, something that caught my attention, something that captivated my soul and proved to me that this statement could not be true.

I once heard about a worker that had served his master for many years. This man had provided him everything he needed and they had grown to be good friends. I wouldve thought this friendship would remain forever, but that was not the case. The worker had been caught stealing and from one moment to another, he was out on the street. No second chance and no time to explain, he was gone.

There has to be a reason and explanation for this, It was hard to beleive that there are things that take time to form but can be vanished in just a moment. Through time i grew more anxious to find out the why. As I ran into more and more, i started to realize and come to my conclusion of what was going on.. Something was being lost, but what was it?

At another time i stopped to think of the couples in the world. Thousands of relationships are either made or destroyed every day. As i was thinking, i tried to think of the reasons why relationships are lost. My first thought was love. Was it the love that was lost? No this couldn't be, due to what it said in the bible that love can never stop being. Then, after a moment something popped in my head. I could even picture the lightbulb going off on top of my head.

Usually when couples break up, it is because one catches the other with somebody else. After that, the person that was cheated on cannot see the other the same way, and it is at that time when the trust that once existed between them and held them together is gone. This also answered my doubt to the scenario with the master and his worker. It is true that they had been friends for a long time and they had gained trust with each other. However, once trust is lost, it is almost impossible to recover.

After much time of anticipation and doubt, i had discovered what i wanted to know. it is important to be a trustworthy person and be aware that trust can be lost at a blink of an eye. No matter how long it took to develope, trust is not like that strong oak tree that will stay the same through storms. It sometimes may seem that trust is restored, but on the inside it might never be the same.
