A.        Mid-Semester  Presentation

FORMAT OF THE REPORT

One page note (A-4, 1″ Margin, New Times Roman, 1.5 line space. No space befor and after the paragraphs) should be submitted as per following format.

  1. Title of the project
  2. Objectives
  3. Background of the research/justification in undertaking the project/origin of the concept and knowledge and gap
  4. Work plan and progress made so far (Experimental/Software program formulated or developed/Field survey/Fabrication/First hand training related to your work in other labs  outside the institute, etc)
  5. Work plan upto final presentation in November 2014  
  6. Signature of the student with Roll No and date
  7. Name and signature of the Supervisor(s)

You presentation should be restricted to 10 minutes + 5 minutes discussion. Avoid undue animation in the slides. Vedio cliping (if any) should be concised. Sslides  should be sequentially arragned and avoid descriptive paragraphs.

It is advisable to make the ppt. in appropriate vesion compatible to the existing MS Office in the departmental computers

B.        End-Semester  Presentation

FORMAT OF THE DISSERTATION

  1. The text in the dissertation should be printed on A4 size page, New Times Roman Font size 12, space 1.5, margin 1" all side, justified.
  2. The front page should contain title and name of students, etc  (Font size Title 20; Name :  
  3. Other information pages should be as per standard protocol, like certificate, index, list of figures and tables, etc.
  4. Abstract (limited to 300 words) and key words (minimum 3).
  5. Basically the chapters should be Introduction, Review of Literature, Design (if any), Material and Methods, Results and discussion, Summary and conclusions, followed by sections like, List of References, Future scope and Appendices.
  6. All Chapters should start from fresh page with Title Heading in Font size 14 bold. There must be a preamble to each chapter. Section, sub-sections, sub-sub-sections should be appropriately numbered in Arabic numerical.  

All equations should be typed in Equation Editor mode (avoid copy-paste from other literature).

  1. All figures should contain Figure caption at the BOTTOM of the figure, and drawn figures should be labeled with APPROPRIATE AXIS TITLES WITH PROPER UNITS. Picture should be clearly visible. Avoid copy-paste option.
  2. Results and discussion part should be appropriately presented with discussion of results; NOT MERE PRESENTING THE TABLES AND FIGURES without any analysis on them.

  1. Conclusions should be in SEPARATE CHAPTER, and the text should be written  in sequence.
  2. References should be as per guidelines mentioned in Authors instruction in JOURNAL OF FOOD ENGINEERING, ELSEVIER. All the cited references in the list should appear in the text, and vice versa.
  3. Future scope of the work should be mentioned
  4. AVOID REPETITION OF SENTENCES AND PARAGRAPHS IN THE DISSERTATION.
  5. Other criteria as per stand Ph.D. Thesis format.

The students should submit the dissertation in Spiral Bound form (duly signed by the Supervisor) at least one day before (in the Department Office).

Defaulters without valid/accepted reasons and non-endorsement from the supervisor will not be allowed to present their works.

You presentation should be restricted to 15 minutes + 5 minutes discussion. Other part as mentioned above.
