- COMPANY BACKGROUND
- Company history (name, location, founders, founding year, legal form, etc)
- Business description
- Management description
- Operation (size, number of employees, geographic coverage, sales, net income, etc.)
- Important events/milestones
- SITUATION ANALYSIS
- Macro-environment analysis (STEEP)
- Industry analysis (five forces, driving forces, competition, etc.)
- Internal environment or company analysis:
- Assess current strategies: how does the company perform strategically and financially?
- Financial analysis (growth, percentage of sales, ratios, etc)
- Assess resources, capabilities, competences: How do the company’s resources/capabilities/competences stack against those of competitors?
- Assess the company’s value chain
- Perform SWOT analysis for the company
- Conclusion about the situation of the company
- VISION/MISSION AND GOALS
Based on the situation analysis, you suggest:
- Should the company change it vision/mission?
- If they don’t have, suggest a vision/mission for them
- What long-term goals (three years or five years) and short-term goals (one year) should the company pursue?
- STRATEGY
- Based on the situation analysis, you suggest new strategic directions for the company:
- What specific corporate (if relevant) and business-level strategy should the company use? Provide detailed explanations as to why the strategy is effective for the company.
- What are the specific elements of the strategy?
- STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION
- Specify what actions the company should take to implement the new strategy?
- What resources and/or capabilities should the company need to acquire or develop to implement the new strategy?
- How should the company change its structure in order to implement the new strategy?
- How should the company change its personnel in order to implement the new strategy?
- How should the company change its culture to implement the new strategy?
