Want to obtain more knowledge and better advance in your career? It is always a good time to go back to school and further your education. We are pleased to announce that we have recently put in place a tuition reimbursement for any employee who is interested in furthering their education in business or communication field. Since this is a new program for our company, we would like to inform all our fellow employees and make sure everyone takes full advantage of this great opportunity.
You may have probably asked yourself several times, "What will a degree do for me?" To further elaborate on the chance, a degree program in Business Communications field can help open many doors and opportunities within the company. According to Career Information handbook, "A degree program in Business Communications typically leads to an associate or bachelor's degree and teaches students such skills as public speaking, written communications, communications software use, media interactions and interviewing" (Career Information for a Degree in Business Communications, 2010).
An individual with a degree in these fields will have more opportunities verses someone that does not have a degree. The most common deterrance for many people is that they are too old to go back to school or they will not have time. It is never too late to go back to school. Currently, there are students who are in their middle age obtaining their degrees. In today's world, many Universities now offer online classes that you can take that will fit into an individual schedule.
By obtaining a degree in business or communications, the company will benefit as well due do the fact that they will gain experienced employees and maintain retention rate of their employees. Madison (2009) stated "Overall employees are looking for career growth paths, fair compensation, and accommodating pleasant work environment." In having a degree, employees can potentially earn more money and advance faster then employee who do not have a degree. Also, employment can be gained in advertising, marketing, promotions, public relations, just to name a few (Job Descriptions: Business Communications, 2008).
In majoring in business or commuciations, students will received valuable and vital training for several amount of skills which consist of marketing, public relations, speech, critical thinking, and problem solving skills, etc. These types of training are a great assets in the corporate world. There are not many job limitations for business or communication degress holders, for they can work in different areas if the company. In doing so, more knowledge and experiences can be gained and it will benefit both the individual and the company.
. What is the potential earning in these fields? By earning a degree in business and communications, stated by The University of Iowa "A college degree can substantially impact your lifetime earning potential. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, adults with advanced degrees can earn almost twice as much as those with just a high school diploma" (Dividends of a College Education, 2009). In addition, this site also provides the rate of earnings of a high school dipolma indivdual making an average of $39,038 verses a associates degree obtainer making an aveareg of $48,083, and a bachelor's degree will earn an individual about $20,000 annually.
Why would companies invest in this type of program? Companies invest in this type of program because they also want to enjoy the benefit of your success because it helps the company as well. Rentention of their employees is a key factor and benefit especially during reccession time
