Returning to school
I have been challenged in many ways since returning to school; however I wanted and
needed a new beginning for myself and my children. I have been thinking about making changes
with my life, that leads me down a different path. After years of being out of high school, I have
finally decided to go to college. There are several reasons why I have decided to go to college. I
will need a good job, with security and a better life plan for myself and my children.
With my decision in entering the criminology program, I thought about what I would
like to do, and what would make me happy. I looked into several positions (such as police
officer, parole officer, and probation officer). I have decided to work towards becoming a
Psychologist/Profiler. I have always been good at listening to family, friends and even strangers
about what goes on in their daily lives. I've also been good at putting advise together and
delivering my words in ways that people understand. I don't judge nor discriminate anyone for
their wrong doings in life. I like to make people feel good about themselves, and the choices that
they have chosen for themselves.
In order to pursuit my career I must first complete the criminology diploma. I am
attending to the College of New Caledonia, in the pursuit of my criminology diploma. There are
many obstacles ahead of me that must be overcome. I have been a casual dietary aid at the Simon
Fraser Lodge, for about five months. It requires for me to be on call twenty-four seven. On top
of being on call for work as a casual, I am also a single full time parent of two children aging
from six years of age to twelve years of age. Attending college while raising children is not an
easy task, but it can be done.
There are so many things to consider such as when to get your homework done, how to
make time for doctor's appointments is g, who is going to watch my children, how I am going
