Returning To School
Many people start from small children wondering what they want to become as an adult. Some people wanted to be doctors, lawyers, or even policemen. Most people wanted big families and some wanted small families, most people just want it to be a little easier for their children than it was for them; But can you truly say that all the dreams you saw as a child is actually a reality at this point in life? Not many of us can honestly say that we became the person that we thought we would be in adulthood. My reason for returning back to school is because the economy is slowly dropping and I need a better means to support my growing family.
Life for me as never been easy, as a child I watched my parents struggle just to keep food on the table. I didn't really have a lot of time for dreaming because like most of my siblings, as soon as I understood what working was, I started working. One of my first jobs was working in a field cropping tobacco. I was only about 6 and at the time work was more important than school. Later in life I realized that my dad wasn't being hard at all but he actually was preparing us for the future.
Graduating high school was one of the happiest times of my life but it also came so fast I wasn't prepared for the next steps in my life. I was so lost on what to do next but my father talked me into going to take classes to become a certified nursing assistance and I must admit at first I thought I couldn't do it but my dad pushed me all the way. Thank God I made it and I've been a certified nursing assistance for18 years. There are some days I wish I would have become something else and for a while I felt like I was stuck with it, a dead end job that I was so miserable with until my husband and I came up with the idea to make a family business and become parole officers.
I know there are many that I haven't been in school for a long time but I am returning to school because of the ever growing workforce today. I feel as though the world is moving forward so rapidly that at times it is difficult to keep up. There are always a large number of people out there that are smarter than you with slightly more drive. Therefore, we must fight for our future, to ensure that a financially stable future is available when we get older. This is a very strong reason but I have a stronger reason
