Most of the inspiration I find for photography is through my everyday life. I can either be walking through my town or spending time at home with my family and I will just 'see the shot' and try to take it. Being a new photographer as far as looking for shots I am just learning about my inspirations. I have been into artistic expression through painting and drawing for years and most of that inspiration comes from books I read. I love to read and many of my paintings are inspired by scenes of how I see them based on books. So for this assignment I had to stretch out a bit and find further outside resources. I began with the text for this course. While I find that book in and of itself truely inspirational I wanted to find more than that so I did some research and found some amazingly inspiring websites.
http://photography.nationalgeographic.com/photography/ - This is the National Geographic website. I have always been a fan of the magazine and that was initially what I had listed here as my first resource, but I discovered their website has all the magazine has to offer and many many more photographs. I am glad I read the magazine and saw the link for the site. It is truly inspirational, since my love so far of photography has been nature based.
http://arbutusphotography.com/gallery/ , http://www.majesticstudios.info/, http://www.celebrationswedding.com/Photo%20Samples.htm - All three of these sites I have gone to for inspirational ideas for wedding photography. The majority of my photographic experience has been doing wedding photos and to jump into that you really need to look at multiple photos to discover what some of the non-traditional ideas are for shots. I think all of these sites give good ideas of some traditional and non-traditional shots for wedding photography
http://www.jennifersimpsonart.com/ This is the website for one of the artists who I find inspirational. As someone who is into drawing and painting as well as photography I find inspiration in how this artist combines the various styles. I actually just discovered that another professor at AAU also is into this variation in art styles his website is: http://www.davidarnoldphotography.com/index.html .
