My Inspiration
By Mallory McDonald
Have you ever met someone you feel bad for? Yet they always have a glowing, bright, white smile on his or her face. If you don't know anyone, stop and look there is a lot out there. Cerebral palsy is a disease that affects many kids, my inspirer unfortunately has it. For anyone you know that has a disease don't let it affect them. It didn't affect her, not one little bit!
My little Mini-me inspirer, Sara Perrotta, always comes up to me with a warm hug waiting for me. It really takes my breath away to know how much she cares. She is only five, long, wonderful years old. But everyday she gets dressed and puts on her cute little clothes and from that moment her face goes off like a bright light. She makes you fill up with joy and laugh, even at the worst times. For example, I was sad when my hamster died and I went to swing (in my front yard) and she came out with a smile. But rarely do I not see that, only when she is hurt or tired. She never gets stopped by her disease. Living by the beach, she loves the water. Now she has learned to jump off the side of the pool and swim by herself with floaties. She pushes through everything; which is why she amazes me.
To me, personality wise, Sara is a glowing ball of inspiration and happiness. Every trip, everyday, anyway, she is always happy. Even when she had her surgeries she was strong and got through it. She shows new skills, information, and knowledge everyday. She is even beginning to write her letters of the alphabet. She wants to learn and play. Everyday she does just that. Accomplishing challenges the doctors said she probably couldn't do shows drive and determination.
I can't tell you how many times Sara said she loves Barney. You might laugh, but this dinosaur just puts her in a trace. Everyday I come over and she wants to watch a movie, the first two words that come from her mouth are "Barney please." I then always laugh and tickle her. In the end, we probably
