This week assignment was to complete a Virtual Organization System Inventory. I completed my assignment on Kudler Foods. This assignment was an eye open to the different systems that could be found on a website.
Skillsoft
The Skillsoft exercise was a rewarding interactive program. I can honestly say that I did retain information from completing this exercise. This exercise help me to recognize how IT is such an advantage to the business world.
Discussion Questions
The first discussion question was about some important questions that need to be asked when determining the exact requirements for a system. This discussion question opened my eyes to the questions that are asked about system requirements and how they relate to business. The second discussion question related to how IT delivers business benefits that are related to the business strategy. The question was interesting because I learned how important IT is to a business. Most importantly I found out about the advantages that IT can bring to the business world.
Emphasize the risk of not protecting against known security threats such as social engineering.
Preparing employees and staff on a security program should be the one of the most important priorities of a company. The importance of this process of crucial to security of the entire company. The company should provide training on how to keep secure information secure, what things to look for and there should also be consequences for employees who do not follow company security procedures and policies. Without ensuring each employee has an understanding of the above mentioned areas, expecting information to be kept secure is not a realistic option for any company.
In technology today, there are so many things that can happen if a company's information gets into the wrong hands. Identity theft, fraud and other types of cyber crimes could potentially cause businesses to fall. It takes careful planning and strictly enforced policies to secure a company's information. With all employees being involved and knowing the correct way to protect their information improves an organizations chances of being successful and not susceptible to a security threat.
