"Vick drops back, looks down field, finds the open man, Jackson, endzone, TOUCHDOWN!!" Merrell Reese says this many times due to all the Eagles scores, but every time, he says it extremely enthusiastic. For example, when the Eagles routed the Redskins 59-28 on Monday Night Football, he announced each of the eight touchdowns with extreme enthusiasm. Clearly, the Eagles have the best offense in the league.
Michael Vick is elusive, yet a great pocket passer. He has 467 yards on the ground which
is an outstanding number for a quarterback. Vick has also thrown for 2243 yards, 15 touchdowns, and two interceptions. Those numbers are unheard of in the National Football League. However, he would not put up those numbers without his receiving core.
Led by Jeremy Maclin, the Eagles receiving core is athletic. Jeremy Maclin has 56 catches for 820 yards and eight touchdowns. Even with those top-notch numbers, he is not the Eagles only weapon. Desean Jackson, Jason Avant, Brent Celek, Riley Cooper, and LeSean McCoy and Owen Schmitt out of the backfield are also big weapons. Combined through the air, they have 199 catches, 2352 yards, and thirteen touchdowns. LeSean McCoy is also great out of the backfield. McCoy has 168 carries for 823 yards and seven touchdowns. These stats would not be put up without Andy Reid and Marty Mornhinweg's coaching.
As the Eagles head coach, Andy Reid is 116-71. That's a winning percentage of .620! He has made it to five NFC championship games winning one against the Falcons in 2004. Although, the Eagles lost to the Patriots in the Super Bowl that year. Since Mornhinweg joined the team in 2003, they are 67-46. Mornhinweg became the offensive coordinator in 2006 and currently calls the plays for this dynamic Eagles offense.
With the elements of Michael Vick, their athletic receiving core, and great coaching, the Eagles have the best offense in the league. With these superb parts, this Eagles offense could win them a Super Bowl this year.
