Once I arrived on the Island of Kava located in the South pacific, I noticed that this was not the place that I had in my mind as a place in paradise. Even though once upon a time Kava had abundant economic resources such as petroleum, coffee, cocoa, spices, bananas, sugar, tourism, fishing, natural gas, and an inexpensive quality labor. Kava had been struck with horrible disasters which has affected the community, helping organizations, and the economy as a whole. Kava is ethnically diverse with 50% of the population being under the age of 15 years old.
Johnson Controls is a global company that produces building materials, automotive products, and power solutions. With Kava recently being hit by numerous disaster attacks, our organization will be capable to help in the healing process along with the local community, and other helping organizations. Once all the data of Kava's past financial record, reports of previous disasters, the affects the disasters had on the countries resources, and how the communities are affected. All of the data will be organized, analyzed, and report to corporate headquarters her recommendations of how the company will benefit from doing business in Kava.
Nik must be rational and bias when collecting the data for Johnson Controls. The culture in Kava is very different in the way that Nik was exposed to in her homeland. The island of Kava relies on their youth to be a part of its labor force, as to where Johnson Controls has not explored that demographic as being a source of labor to carry the company's vision. The past history of the multiple disasters that Kava has been in is not a norm that Nik has had to deal with in her region. So Nik must gain control over her emotions, and not allow personal fear of the elements affect her reports.
With a large array of problems that Kava is facing, Nik must formulate a solution that will allow Johnson Controls to overcome all of the organizational and environmental obstacles that Kava has and may possibly face with future disasters. One obstacle maybe importing and exporting goods and services from Kava during one of their disasters, and it will affect the company. Another obstacle maybe if the population of the workforce is capable to produce the goods and services at the rate of our other branches. Is Kava a good market for our company to explore, and is it stable enough to see growth.
The island of Kava has a large amount of economic resources, and Nik needs to be able to gather as much information as possible to be able to make a rational decision on what recommendations to report back to her superiors. Critical thinking will allow Nik to choose the best strategy to formulate the issues of Kava's disasters, and decide on what are the best actions for the organization to venture towards setting up business in Kava. There may be environmental conditions in Kava that maybe to brutal for Johnson Controls to handle economically.
