There are numerous factors that influence the decision-making process in an organization. Factors such as economical, political, and environmental issues influence decisions daily. The decision making process can assist an organization in analyzing problems effectively and assist in implementing solutions. This process consist different steps such as defining objectives, the generation of alternatives, evaluation of alternatives, and selection of best alternatives, which further helps an organization to successfully compete in today's competitive business world. This paper will discuss applying a decision-making technique to identify the solution, provide an analysis of the specific step utilized in applying the selected decision-making technique, and ending with the usage of definition and various elements of critical thinking addressed to examine the decision-making model selected with an explanation of how it influences and or impacts the proposed solution.

My first assignment with the Department of Education was nothing like I expected. My mentor and supervisor, Alex, gave me a debriefing about Kava. After numerous disasters, Kava's original beauty and its people have changed dramatically. HIV/AIDS and the avian flu are prevalent. Kava's government hopes to receive assistance to improve the lives of its young citizens. Kava's government does not hold the basic knowledge to effectively govern its people effectively through the problems the island is currently facing. Fifty percent of Kava's population is under 15 years of age and the Department of education wants to see what type of presence would be beneficial to this large population in order to ensure sustainability and economic growth to the country.

Education is detrimental to all countries and the Department of Education has been instrumental in rebuilding lives by implementing the power of education to the young and old. The Department of Education's mission is to ensure equal access of education is given to all and to promote student achievement on a global level. In this case, education is not only on the academic level but also on the level of health and disaster relief. The Department of Education will perform an analysis to determine what need is the most prevalent.

Applying a decision-making technique to identify the solution

The Department of Education would like to establish its presence in Kava and in order accomplish this; the Department of Education needs to apply a decision-making technique suitable for the correct solution to be established.
