I am a highly self-motivated, energetic and meticulous person who believes in the principle of getting our lives in balance, putting wellness, family and relationships, and personal growth just as high on our list of priorities as urgent business concerns.
I furthermore believe in the spirit of willingness to learn and I learn fast from people and also easily adapt to the environment, believe in team work efforts and putting in an extra mile in achieving self-goals and the goals of the company as a whole.
I am also organised, focused and honest and a time particular person. I can be trusted, relied on and help and share where I could.
I am seeking to use my educational training to make a difference in the life of someone in need of it. Volunteer work is something that has always brought a calmness to my soul. I find it pleases me the most when I make a difference to the life of someone who has lost hope and needed a boost the most. Over time I have learned, it's not about the benefits you receive, but the difference you have made in the life of someone else, and that's what makes me want to keep doing it. I believe I am the best candidate to be African Union Youth Volunteer because I have the heart for it. There is a quote by Mother Theresa that says that, "Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one come to you without leaving happier." It has taught m that, it is better to lend a hand where needed and leave someone happier even for a moment, to make them feel special and loved. A deed done genuinely and with love, may seem ordinary but will extraordinary love that will cause a ripple effect in the life of the person receiving it.
My volunteer experiences range from orphanages to schools and they have related to my career interests while adding to my skill development. I have worked with children in orphanages, the abandoned men, and women in old age homes and children suffering from autism.
Highly self-motivated with an energetic style, I am eager to learn new skills and enhance my education while contributing to the program. My strengths also include communication, maturity and the ability to relate effectively with individuals at all levels and cultural backgrounds. I have learned the quality of Ubuntu which is a South African term for working together and unity. I spent four and a half years in South Africa while doing my undergraduate learning about their vast culture and working with students from across the world in my leadership positions and group assignments.
After all is said and done, I would love to leave the community I am deployed to in a state different from how I will find it. I believe that God sends people into certain situations for a reason because there is a lesson to learn and a difference to come. I love being able to make even the smallest impact on the lives of people that 10 years done the line, they are passing on the lesson learned from me. I love to make people happy and loved. To let them know regardless of how difficult life may seem and they have given up, there is hope and it will work out one way or the other. As for myself, I find great joy knowing that I made a difference in someone's life. That alone is my greatest reward and the only benefit I seek when I volunteer. Just knowing I was able to put a smile on someone's face and bring some sense of hope.
