c. Aircraft registration certificate expire when:
- AC is registered under the laws of a foreign country
- Owner cancels by a written request
- AC is totally destroyed
- Ownership transfer
- 30 days after the death of the owner
- Owner loses US citizenship

- A letter of authorization for AC operation under MEL, issued by FAA FSDO
b. Without MEL
- The flight operation is conducted in a small or light aircraft
- The inoperative instruments and equipment are not a part of VFR-day
- The inoperative instruments and equipment are:
+ Removed or deactivated from the AC
+ Placed an INOPERATIVE placard
+ If deactivation or removal involves maintenance, it must be
accomplished by certificated maintenance personnel
