Throughout a person's life, every experience and encounter with others has a huge impact on who that person becomes, as well as how that person's life is changed a long the way. Change is a process rapid or slow; it is an inevitable experience, presenting diverse consequences, both negative and positive. The newspaper article " like a horror movie" presents the catastrophic impact of an earthquake on changing people's lives. Losing a member in the family, friends and colleagues or getting injured are major changes that will affect these people emotionally, physically and intellectually.
The article presents the impact of the earthquake and how it had different effects on people. A mother of two teenage kids was presumed dead, after an office tower collapsed while she was inside. The two teenage kids along with their father were devastated when they were informed about " this horrible news". It is traumatising for any adolescent to sustain such a loss; losing a parent means a loss of childhood, of innocence and a part of oneself. The most significant costs might be the intellectual and emotional costs that he will undergo. This man will go through the same stages of grief as when losing a loved one: anger, denial, depression, and then acceptance. His life has been turned upside down as he lost an important part of his body that he won't be able to get back.
This is only two of hundreds of people that have been affected by the earthquake. Apart from the physical destruction of their town there is also the emotional turmoil of losing their loved ones and becoming disabled and, most importantly, the intellectual trauma of watching their
