When we look at something or someone, do we really ever stop to think of what makes up that person or living thing. The organisms and human body are such a complex piece of work. Our body is made up of trillions of cells made up of special characteristics. There are three specific types that are found in the human body. They are the muscle cells, nerve cells and red blood cells. These three piece together quite nicely. The nerve cells help control the muscles cells while the muscle cells help the beating heart. Without the red blood cells we wouldn't have the oxygen throughout the body. In order to explore these cells the microscope has been identified as a leader in experiments which dates back to the 1600s.
For cells that aren't the human body there are single cell organisms. Such as the prokaryote cell. This type of cell is any organism that lacks a distinct nucleus and other organelles due to the absence of internal membranes. Bacteria are among the best-known prokaryotic organisms. The difference between the prokaryote and the eukaryote cell are that the eukaryotic cell has a nucleus or the internal membrane. You might be wondering what the nucleus is. A nucleus is the center or brain of the eukaryote cell. The nucleus contains the chromosomes and genetic makeup to control the growth and reproduction.
All cells have some things in common. They all have an outer membrane called the cell membrane, DNA and ribosomes. DNA and ribosomes work together to produce proteins from tiny structures, which are the ribosomes. Most plasma membranes are composed of lipids and proteins. Which I am sure most have heard those two terms before. Yes they are related to the dietary fats found in our body. The lipids in our body help carry vital nutrients that we need. Now too many lipids that is what leads to health problems. Lipid and proteins are very important in the cell make up.
The reason we study as you can see is very important to the investigation of how we are made and other living organisms and plant life. Without all the science and experiments on the cells and their

cell life, we wouldn't know anything about us. We would still be dying from certain infections but now we have the tools to stop certain strains of bacteria by studying the cells.
