Every day on the news I see people taking photos of murders, rapists, drug addicts, robbers and many others who break the law. You just hope that you're not he next victim of the raging attackers or lawbreakers. More and more stories are showed every time. Each story is more gruesome than the one before. Laws are needed to control; the society in an orderly fashion. In civilization's no one is naturally good, being good is something you have to learn.
In Tom Sawyer there is two kind of people one who follows rules and the other who doesn't.pg 130 "you don't have to get up, mornings, and you don't have to go to school, and wash, and all that blame foolishness. You see a pirate don't have to do anything, Joe, when he's ashore." This quote shows that without laws people do anything and leads to laziness also madness. Pg.130 "but a hermit he has to be praying considerable, and then he don't have any fun, anyway, all by himself that way." As you can see that people act differently than they would if there was no rules in these societies. Rules or laws can change the way how people are and their expectations.
In the book animal farm shows different situations can lead to different outcomes. Pg.38 "he had become much disheartened after losing money in a lawsuit, and had taken to much drinking more than was good for him...and occasionally feeding Moses on crust of bread soaked in beer." This quote shows that people can change and aren't naturally good. Pg. 38 "the next moment he and his four men were in the store-shed with whips in their hands, lashing out in all directions. This was more than the hungry animals could bear." By this you can see that there angry and how drunken that the owner was shows that he had found a way to leash out his angry but it was not the right way to deal it with. Shown by animal farm this conforms that laws are absolutely necessary in civilizations of today.
In my own perspective I believe that no one is naturally good and that is that. It is since that being good is kind of having respect for others. Without respect there would be wars all the time and just to treat them exactly how you would want to be treated. Another reason why we need laws is because to protect people, laws intended to discourage people from harming each other, all governments have laws granting goods or services of some kind to its citizens. These are only some of the reasons why laws are needed and that no one is naturally good.
What does it mean to be good? Is it something you learn or is it something you naturally have. Laws are a strict firm hand and could be as harsh as the Greek gods were. Even though they seem harsh they are still needed in many ways.as I said before that crimes happen very often more than any one needs. This only shows that laws are more needed in the world to minimize the crimes and murders that occur in the
