What Is the Most Important Thing That We Should Learn in College?

Everyone has the same thing in their mind once they enter college, which is to graduate. However, being in college is not just about immersing us with books and formulas; it is actually learning processes that prepare us to enter the real world of working adult. In my opinion, it is important to learn how to build and expand our social network when we are in college because it can help us to develop our communication skills, enhance our way of viewing things and meet a lot people.

First of all, we should learn how to build and expand our network in college because it can help us to develop our communication skills. Communication has always been the main medium for two different parties to understand one another's needs, for instance, in working, a manager must know the correct things to say when ordering his or her subordinates so that the tasks can be done smoothly.

The second reason why learning how to build and expand our social network is important in college is that it can help us to enhance our ways of viewing things. By socializing with people of different backgrounds, we will be able to learn a lot of new things from them such as their cultures, languages and so on. Therefore, our way of viewing things will change along with the knowledge and information we have gained from our social network.

The last reason why we should learn how to build and expand our social network in college is that we will be able to meet a lot of people. When we know how to carry ourselves and how to interact with others, people will get along with us easily. For example, a good relationship between a student and a professor can be established if the student communicates with the professor respectfully and does not hesitate to share his or her own views openly.

Some of us might think that socializing in college is a distraction to focus on our studies, but do we realized by involving in college's social network, we can practice how to communicate smoothly, how to blend into other people of various personalities and so forth. These skills are very important especially when we are entering the working life. Hence, discovering how to work towards increasing our social network in college is vital.
