This semester, in the English 103 class that I have taken, I realize I have learned a lot more than I thought will. In my efforts of writing this paper, flipping through my different notes, I really have learned how to write.
I learned how to use four types of sentences in paragraph. First sentence structure is Compound complex sentence which is most complicated sentence also includes compound and complex sentence. Second one is Complex sentence and I made presentation about complex sentence in that class. It is usually made up independent clause which express complete thought, and one or more dependent clauses connected by subordinate conjunction. Compound sentence includes two independent clause connected by fan boys. Sentence structure that used very wisely for everyday life and base of sentence is simple sentence which contains subject and phrase. Further more, sentence are make paragraph, paragraph make essay. Big difference between paragraph and essay is paragraph centered on one idea only, and is generally much shorter than an essay, which usually consists of many paragraphs. In an essay, you could explore many ideas while talking about one general topic. In a paragraph you would write about only one topic, because paragraphs are shorter, and if you change topics, you would start a new paragraph and the topic sentence is the main point of a paragraph and the thesis statement expresses the main idea of the essay. Essays are dividing in three parts, the introduction, body and conclusion. The topic sentence is the main point of a paragraph and the thesis statement expresses the main idea of the essay. Finally I can write research paper all those tactics, sentence structure, and essay.
I have also learned how to compose English papers. Learning the different parts of language has also helped me. I've learned from the book we used, "Exploring writing" how to use different types of templates for writing.
Everything that I have learned this semester in my English class has helped me with my writing abilities. It has even helped me improve on my speaking and in conversations. One very important issue is the difference between "academic" writing and non-academic writing, formal and informal. I did know that formal writing has to be different from informal writing, but what Mrs. Presberry taught me. At the beginning of the semester I didn't have much confidence in my writing abilities at all, but now I do. Now I how to write essays, research papers, and ready to go to next level.
