The things we know today, the advancements in technology, and the new creations that enhance our lives daily, all have a history. By having history, we are able to know where, when, how, and why things have been made. The reasons people change, the way our world changes, and the new discoveries that are made each day, are all successful because we have a history to learn and explore from. History allows the world to learn from the past, explore new beginnings, and ultimately create a future.
History is the record of past events, or events themselves. History can include past accounts from when people first started making engravings in caves, to what the most current historian wrote about in this Sunday's 9/11 memorial. History is in everything we do and study, from culture to medical sources. It is the ultimate source of information. History, as stated previously, is our past, but most importantly, our ticket to the future. We study history to help us understand people and societies. Studying history allows us to acquire answers to questions we have about our ancestors, our countries, and our religions. All in all, we study history to learn how we change and to understand how the society we live in came to be. History is important to study so that mistakes that have been made in the past are not repeated. The importance in studying history is in our understanding and knowledge of what to do, or what not to do when we are in difficult situations. Some lessons we learn are how to deal with war. Another important lesson we learn from history is how to handle and deal with our economy. Although we were close to coming into another recession, we knew enough about our past one and exactly how to avoid that situation. Lessons like this help our country stay afloat and continue to thrive.
From what we know about history, we have the ability to prosper and avoid unnecessary situations. History fulfills our knowledge of our culture and past memorable events. It teaches us lessons and gives us information on things we need to know. In conclusion our history is what makes all of us what we are. History is our ticket to knowledge, to new stories, and to prosperity.
