War and adversity created several opportunities for women. One way it helped alter women's roles was by creating a system that would take care of the children so that mothers could work. Daycares were started during this time, and it changed the roles of mother. This gave mothers the opportunity to work, and still have a family.
Throughout time, women have had periods of gain that have been offset by losses. One example of this would be in times of war. For World War II women had many job opportunities and took on other roles than what they were use to. World War II gave women responsibilities outside of their household. But once the war was over and all the men came back from war, they took over the jobs, which gave women not as many opportunities.

Daycares were started during this time, and it changed the roles of mother. This gave mothers the opportunity to work, and still have a family.
During World War II, the war demanded the women work because they were needed. All women were needed to stand up for our country, even women with kids and a family. The creation of daycares and childcare altered mother's roles because now they could have the opportunity to provide income for their family, while knowing that their children are safe. This also allowed mothers to become more skilled and educated, because they had extra time that they wouldn't of had before.
