Maya Angelous , Rosa Parks, and Oprah Winfrey are all hero's in today life. Each of them had a positive effect. However, The definition of a hero is someone who is honest, a leader and someone who is selflessness. Not everyone can be a hero, but anyone can try to do the characteristics of a hero. Heros should always be honest. Honesty Heroes expect honesty from others and do not get mad at the other the when the truth is not being told. Honesty from a hero means that you can trust them. In the book, ¨The Odyssey” by Homer, Odysseus was being honest in the beginning of the book to his men when he told his men exactly what happen if they obeyed the rules, but towards the end of the book Odysseus begins to tell false information to his loved ones.
To be a hero, why do you have to be selfless? Selflessness is the most important heroic trait, it is the passion of heroism. Good leaders always put others first. Putting others before yourself can also help you reach your own goals. Also, good hero's are willing to help others without them asking and not expecting anything back for helping.
According to the text, “a leader is someone who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way”. When you’re a leader people already look up to them because they have a title. Heroes also have to be leaders because they have to be trustworthy. If they are not leaders then they would guide others in the wrong direction; however, it is always good to be a leader and not a follower.
No one can be called a hero without being selfless,an leader and good role model. These three characteristics are a example of what it means to be a hero. Perhaps if more people had these characteristics, the world be much better.
