The main attraction of Kenya for safari holiday are in the Maasai Mara / Nakuru National Park - Kenya has spectacular wildlife in their own natural habitat. A great example of wild life is the "big five" - elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino. Those are the main attractions of Kenya safari holidays; there is more like the savanna grassland and bush across the plateau of the highlands, it is blessed with beautiful mountains such as Mount Kenya. Africa's second highest peak.

Coastal Holidays SE of Kenya has fine sands and coral reefs with spectacular marine life like in Mombassa, where the climate is hotter and more humid than inlands. In the coastal town of Mombasa, the average day temperature is the highest in January and February at 31 degrees Celsius and the lowest in July and August with 27 degrees C. The best time to go to Mombasa is during the dry period December-January and to a lesser extent July-August. One big advantage for safari tourist is that in the dry seasons, wildlife can be spotted easily as animals are concentrated along the more scare water sources.

Kenya was one of the first LEDC countries to achieve mass tourism and in the1970s and 1980s there was a rapid increase in the numbers of tourists, particularly following the release of the films Born Free and Out of Africa. Tourist numbers have also increased as larger aircraft in the 1980s brought prices of air travel down.
