Although organizations use Total Quality Management (TQM), one will find a high performance workplace as one growing with society. These organizations are using emerging trends, integrating technology, mobilizing teams, goal objectives, and remembering that people are assets. On the other hand these same organizations are remembering that personal wellness of the employees is a must so that they can perform their daily duties adequately. This may be one reason that stress, either eustress or distress, should be addressed to minimize to help the outcome of work groups. According to Goessl (2008), there are six characteristics of high-performance workplaces and they include "People are assets, mobilize teams, integrate the newest technologies, focus on growth and development, goal objectives, and oriented to achieve." It has been known that when these characteristics are used, TQM is practiced.
While working with an organization can be rewarding in itself, having motivation and proper conflict management can make it more rewarding. Each organization has it's own way to motivate workers, managers, and even clients. How do they motivate them? What conflicts could arise and how do they get resolved? Each organiztion faces the same types of conflict: "inner, person-to-person, intragroup, and person versus group."(Lamberton & Minor-Evans, 2002). Each organization will have it's own solution, knowing when to use each will be the key factor. In the fields that the members of Team A are employeed in; conflicts, resolutions and motivation vary. The organizations use five types of people to manager conflicts: competitor,avoider, compromiser, accomadator, and the collaborator.(Lamberton & Minor-Evans, 2002). Which does your workplace use?
