The war with Mexico began in 1847. The cause of it remained controversial. For America, they regarded Texas as their own state. However, for Mexico, the Texas was never formally belongs to America. Santa Anna, who is captured by Sam Houston, signed the agreement that gave away the Texas. The Mexicans, on the other hand, was never granted it.
It is a brilliant strategy for America to declare the war. They followed the idea of Manifest Destiny and successfully gained more lands by it. Yet, it is totally inhumanity and unethical to announce such a brutal war with Mexico. First, as the article mentioned above, Texas was not belongs to America. For this reason, America did not have right and would not have right to invade Mexico. Moreover, the reason to attack Mexico, which America held, was so weak. Lastly, and more importantly, what the reason would be in the world to attack the innocent people, the people without any strength to defense it.
Mexico was suffered in this preposterous war. Mexico has plenty of evidences to prove that this war is totally erroneous. The manifest destiny, which America held was selfish, cause enormous amount of people died. From all of the solid reasons, we can conclude that there was not suppose to have the war like this.
