Unit 5 Project:
The Invisible Gorilla
To learn more about some of the processes of sensation and perception (and cognition in general) you will be reading The Invisible Gorilla. You will summarize and analyze the book. Lastly, you will take a quiz about the book. (You should plan on taking this before or after school the week of March 21-March 25 which is the week following Spring Break. You should schedule this in advance with Mrs. Stites) For your paper, be sure to incorporate the following:
1. Summary
Briefly summarize the book.
Include a brief explanation of the 6 cognitive illusions discussed in the book as well as how the prominent example in each chapter relates to that illusion.
2. Analysis
What was your opinion about the book? Why?
Would you recommend it to other Psychology students? Would you recommend it to your friends? Why?
How have you already or could you in the future relate these 6 illusions to your life to influence behavior? (this application should be original and not the same examples given by the authors)
Which of these illusions would have the most and least impact on your life? Rank them in terms of impact and justify your rankings.
3. Organization & Citations
Make sure that whenever you use examples from the book, that you are including a citation with page number.
You can use other sources, but any sources outside of The Invisible Gorilla should be cited.
Organize your paper in such a way that it is easy to read and makes sense
Paper should be error-free (spelling, mechanics, etc)
