This ist the missions statement of the company I want to introduce to you today. Tesla.
First of all I am going to give you an overview of the company in general and tell you something about ist CEO Elon Musk.
Afterwards I am going to speak about teslas market strategy and history
Finally I will explain the points that made Tesla so succesful.
As the mission statement suggests Tesla produces electric cars and power train components.
The overall company goal is to commercialize electrical vehicles.
The company is named after Nikola Tesla who was an inventor, electrical and mechanical engineer, is best known for his contributions to modern electricity supply system .
Tesla Motors was incorporated in July 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning.
In 2004 Elon Musk became CEO and product architect. He still helds both positions today.
Teslas headquarters are located in Paolo Alto in California and in 2017 it had around 37500 employees.

He is a South Africa-born, Canadian-American engineer, entrepreneur, and inventor
He received a Bachelor degree in physics and economics.
At the age of 24 Musk moved to California to begin a PhD in Applied physics at Stanford
but left the program after two days to pursue his entrepreneurial aspirations in the areas of the Internet, renewable energy and outer space.
He ist he 52nd richest man with net worth of 7.5 bn US$
Moreover he is CEO and CTO of SpaceX ♣ CEO and chief product architect of Tesla Motors

Tesla first entered the high end market with the Roadster targeting at people that are willing to pay more in order to get the companys mission out in the marketplace.
Once it was more established and widely known as a successful idea, they ventured in a more competitive market of lower-level priced models with the models S and X
They just drove down the market by investing all free cashflow in Research and Development.
This lead to the launch of the affordable model 3 with which they want to target the mass market and sell high volumes to low prices
As a support they provided more green power generating options at the same time
Now Im going to present you the most important milestones since the founding of tesla in 2003.
Tesla introduced the first prototypes of the roadster to public in 2006 and started the production in 2008.
In 2009 the Model s was unveilded. Two years later model X was announced.
In 2012 Tesla launched a revolutionary supercharger network for longdistance driving.
