(CON)TV Harmful???
Chacha Tumbokon (studied psychology and early childhood development) "The Good and Bad Effects of TV on Your Kid"
So what is TV? Well TV is short for television and the definition of television is "The broadcasting of a still or moving image via radio waves to receivers that project a view of the image on a picture tube." from Dictionary.com. With that said I'll begin with how it harms children. Television avoids kids from physical activities like exercise which could possibly lead to kids growing up over weight. "A child learns a lot more efficiently from real interaction- with people and things rather than things she sees on a video screen" Stated from a website with a professional that studies psychology. Basing off of that I would also like to say from the article it talks about how this prevents children from learning more stuff like language. Just watching TV all day doesn't help the children develop their language the best way to develop that is by interacting with other people. I would also like to point out how watching too much TV could also affect kids in school. According to Dr. Sally Ward expert in language and speech, the background noise of television have trouble paying attention in class if there are other things that's happening during the class session. Kids also would have trouble paying attentions to teachers because television shows usually have a lot of actions which could lead to a short attention span, but since a teacher would be kind of boring( no offense ) so therefore they wouldn't learn anything in class. So to conclude with television could also expose the bad and negative behaviors, influences, and information to the children which isn't good because our children are the future of us we want their childhood to be as good as possible. With scars from childhood experience it could possibly affect the children's coming future.
In an interview with Kolton Passmore he said that television could be bad if people watch it for too long. He also talked about how television would decrease people's I.Q. range. To conclude again television isn't good for kids and adults.
