LASUCO - BEAUTIFUL IMPRESSION ON VIETNAMESE ENTERPRISES

Two-day-field trip, although it’s not a long time but Lasuco has left me a good impression.

High-tech agricultural production

I have learned a lot about sugar production and are impressed with Lasuco's 3000 billion VND revenue achieved in 2017. Not surprisingly, I learned that Lasuco is the first agricultural enterprises applying 4.0 technology into production. Lasuco has used the ERP solution on GIS (Geographical Information Systems). With more than 15,000 acres of land, Lasuco's traditional way is by dividing the fertilizer and irrigation water by the norm, meaning that all parcels are dosed equal amounts of water and fertilizer. As a result, the excess of irrigated water is not up to the standards required by each farming area corresponding to that meteorological area, unsuitable fertilizers leading to unqualified quality of raw materials and copper. Now, Lasuco has applied artificial intelligence system AI to help forecast weather, data on soil, water, ... to allocate irrigation and fertilizer for each land plots - raw material. Lasuco applies IoT technology in the integration of sensor systems in key material areas of about 500 hectares. The AI ​​system helps to analyze the optimum farming process to cope with the changing weather conditions in each farming area monitored by the sensor system, monitoring and warning to the technical department. All of this information is updated one-dashboard - the manager is sitting in one place but can know the forecast and coordinate. Therefore, Lasuco has reduced waste and increased revenue. From sugar cane, technology has helped Lasuco grow its business, they also expanded to other high-tech agricultural products such as melons, oranges, orchids ... all from nature. In the current trend, natural products always receive highly support from the people.

Enterprises attach importance to sustainable development

Lasuco is willing to give up its alcohol production plant for hundreds of billions of VND every year because it pollutes the soil and water around area. They spend money on researching solutions to microbial COD treatment, building the research and development of new products to suit tastes.

In addition, Lasuco also shifted to corporation model. One of the aspects they focus on is the development of eco-tourism and Ecopark bamboo ecological tourism will be the spearhead in the future. Combined with the existing landscapes and historical temples in the region, this is a new potential development. Tourism is both a clean industry and has brought regional identity to visitors.

Recommendations

Lasuco has many advantages, especially Ecopark is the highlight for Vietnam tourism in the coming time. Bamboo not only help them develop tourism but also can be a good source of materials. However, during my stay here, I found that Lasuco's hotel service was poor. For the development of tourism, I think Lasuco should improve, adjust their service before going into official operation.
