Our sun is the ultimate source of energy on this planet. We get our nutrients from the sun and through Photosynthesis we are provided oxygen. We could use the sun to generate electricity through Solar Power panels as well which is healthier for the environment. Generating electricity through a solar panel is an easy process. The solar panels hold cells which capture the sunlight and convert it into usable electricity to power the entire home. Photovoltaic cells are what convert the energy from the sun into electricity. When photons from the sun hit the cells, it knocks the electrons loose which creates an electric current.
The sun is renewable energy so we don't have to worry about running out of fossil fuels one day. Solar energy is as pure as it can get. You don't need any other harmful material to help solar energy convert to electricity which keeps pollutants out of the air. The two major cons of solar energy are that it takes up a lot of space and that it is expensive. The pros of solar energy far outweigh the cons though and it will make for a better future. The initial cost of solar panels may be expensive but in the long run it is worth it and I would definitely invest in solar panels.
Solar energy costs about 12-30 cents per kilowatt-hour for homes and businesses. "Experts predict the cost of solar power will drop below retail electricity rates in many parts of the country between 2013 and 2018". ("Experts predict", n.d). Some countries such as Germany, U.K and here in the U.S are practicing using Solar Power Energy. Although it quite hasn't had its break through yet, we are looking to a brighter future. Solar power plants will be built In the Southwest providing clean renewable energy for millions of homes and businesses. Solar energy will catch on to people because the price of kilowatt-per-hour is expected to drop to 5 cents between 2012 and 2018. Solar energy is the cleaner way of living and all around the better source of energy for our earth and its people.
