Are science and religion in conflict?
I. Introduction
A. Thesis Statement
Although Religion and Science both have theories of how the universe and our existence came to be, these two theories both have the same meanings of how life began but in different backgrounds.
II. Body paragraph #1 - Topic Sentence #1
Both Science and Religion have common laws and should not have conflict with each other because both of the research is similar in several ways.
A. Supporting Evidence
According to Robinson, B.A (2009), "One good example would be, Genesis from the Bible versus the Big Bang Theory" (Religious Tolerance, 2009).
B. Explanation
These disciplines both explain the beginning of existence, religion focusing on mysteries or miracles accounted for by God, and science explaining the beginning more in a scientific approach.
C. So What?
There is evidence that can be able to prove the Big Bang Theory, but these scientists do not explain the "before" of the Big Bang Theory. This could be where religion steps in and explains how everything was created according to God's plan.
III. Body paragraph #2 - Topic Sentence #2
Creation Science seems to be in conflict with the gaps in the evolution theory, but these two both have a significance and connection with each other.
A. Supporting Evidence
According to Robinson, B.A (2009), "Creation Science states that all life comes from preceding life, and that of its kind. Natural generation is considered incorrect because science teaches that life does not come from nonliving matter." (Religious Tolerance, 2009)
B. Explanation
These theories have different explanations, but both have the same meanings only according to their backgrounds, which are religious and scientific.
C. So What?
All in all science and religion both have the same research and findings but are somewhat different.
IV. Body paragraph #3 - Topic Sentence #3
There had to be some sort of a Higher Being to be able to create our planets, entire world, and our entire existence.
A. Supporting Evidence
According to Robinson, B.A (2009), "Science does not have enough evidence to explain things according to chance." (Religious Tolerance, 2009)
