Sir Robert Peel provided organization to law enforcement. Before his ideas were used, there was no structure in law enforcement and the people in the towns were the ones that seek out their own justice. Also, the system was not fair and made people not to respect the law. The ideas of Sir Robert Peel brought organization to law enforcement and brought trust to the people. He made sure that police officers were trained to deal with all kinds of people. People had different culture believes, and police officers had to respect there believes. When the people have respect for police, then the people will listen and corporate with police too. At first the public were scared with the ideas of Sir Robert Peel, because they think the new police force will act as a personal military and bully the people. Sir Robert Peel made sure that the minimum amount of force is used to arrest a person. It took the death of a police officer for the people to see that the new police force is fair.
The system that Sir Robert Peel developed is still used today, and is used world wide because it works. In the United States there are many law enforcement agencies. Society today strongly depends on law enforcement for protection.
