Techniques: The techniques used to show the themes of death and peace was showing the event that occurred and how it portrayed the themes. Odyssey presented the importance of death. Agammaneon and Achilles argue who had a more honorable death showing that they way you leave the mortal world is the way you will be presented in the afterworld. Respect is another huge aspect in this story as it ignited the war where Odysseus felt violated and betrayed. When the Ithacains found their sons were murdered they seeked vengeance for being disrespected and broken. But that attempt soon changed as Athena changed their outlook on Odysseus by seeing him as the rightful king.

Mood: The mood of the story is heartwarming as Odysseus meets his father who has aged greatly for the constant grief over his son Odysseus. Odysseus meets his father that has been depressed all these years due to the missing of his son. They finally reconnect in the garden where they enjoy a peaceful dinner and explain what they have missed in the previous years. The story is also frightening as there was a chance that the parents of Ithica would wage a war against Odysseus due to the massacre of their sons. That would include another whole book about the war between Odysseus and Ithica.

Setting: The most important setting it in the garden showing the ending of the story. The garden and meeting of lunch symbolizes peace and connection to lost cause. Odysseus meets his father for the first time in many years finally reconnecting lost relationships. The garden symbolizes peace and harmony showing that the raging war is over and the power is given to the rightful owner.

Important Events: An important event that happened is when the god of Rumor spread the current events that just occurred. This could be a bad thing because Odysseus would have to fight another war against the Ithicas because of the sons that he has murdered. This would be a downfall to his throne because he has no army. His army has diminished because he took them all on his journey and war in Troy.
