This is a very good novel. I want to say how this book depicts the world war when the nazis were controlling the Jews. It is an inspiring book and i really enjoyed reading it. My favorite part is when annemarie is on her way to her uncle Henriks house and her mother tells them all these stories of her childhood, and how her dog would wait for her around the corner to walk her home from school and to walk her to school. My least favorite part was when the nazi officers barge in the house while the family is at the funeral and the officer demands the mom to open the cascet, but she explains that "Great Auny Birte" has typhus and the germs will spread, so the officer slaps her and says to open it when they leave. This is a very good novel.
