"Don't dream your life, live your dream."
Mesut Ozil, my favorite soccer player, once said this, and it means a lot to me.
I have pursued many dreams in my life. I've always wanted to become an Olympic gymnast. I've always wanted to play volleyball in the professional leagues. I've always wanted become a black belt in karate. I've always wanted meet Justin Bieber. I've always wanted become a surgeon. I've always wanted make mission trips all around the world in order to help the less fortunate. I've always wanted become an FBI agent. I've always wanted live in Spain. I've always wanted grow old with the love of my life.
Unfortunately, I have not accomplished all my dreams. But I have tried my hardest to achieve them.
One of the very first dreams I achieved was when I got my black belt in karate. I was only twelve years old! That was one of the best moments of my life. I was so proud. But it wasn't easy. It took three years of daily training, and I shed a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. I continued karate, and after my eighth year I received my third degree black belt, along with a broken ankle. It was tough, but I did it.
I will achieve my next dream when I become an orthopedic surgeon. This is my dream job because I was inspired by Dr. Carrasquillo, my boyfriend's father, who is an orthopedic surgeon himself. His job just seems so fascinating; I would get to help all sorts of people--from the elderly to athletes. And this job would help me fulfill my next dream: mission trips. It would be so wonderful to be able to travel the world while helping less fortunate people. I would be able to use my knowledge and skills as a doctor for charity, not money. I will fulfill my dream.
The next dream I will achieve one day is to live in Spain. This year I will be going on the school trip to Spain, and I am so excited! It's going to such a breathtaking experience. I'll get to stay in an environment where the Spanish culture is practiced. I'll get to utilize my ability to speak Spanish. I'll get to explore the cities and see all the beautiful art. So one day, when I graduate from medical school, I will live in Spain in a beautiful house on the beach.
So here are my last words to you:
Find your dream no matter how crazy, weird, or ludicrous it may seem (to others) and pursue it with all your might.
