The intention of this letter is to inform you about your deliberate disregard in handling confidential material. G-Bio Sport policy about the handling classified information has been outlined in the Safeguarding Classified Information Handbook. This handbook was provided by the human resource department during your initial orientation. In addition, this book lists the specific responsibility of every employee here at G-Bio Sport and specifically outlines how to manage classified, unclassified and sensitive information. During the computer security update, the search program that was recently installed found a couple of blog postings about the company which causes concern that can affect the safety and security of the company. Also, with the findings, you were identified to be the one posting confidential information on the blog site.
To correct this problem, I have decided to discipline you by giving you a letter of reprimand for the illegal behavior and failure to obey the policy. Your decision to post classified information is a big concern for this company because it affects everyone's safety. Furthermore, I would like for you to go through the training again to ensure this type of conduct will never happen again.
The main reason behind this decision is at my level I am given limited authority to deal with all employees who had violated the policy on handling confidential information. I think that this is the maximum punishment for your actions. However, G-Bio Sport Company has the final decision whether you can stay employed in this company. The second reason is that an investigation must be done to ensure no other vital information has been leaked to the public. This process takes a long time evaluate. In the meantime, I want you to understand and reflect the severity of your actions. I want you to be aware that second violation of this type of incident will cause you your job according to the current policy.
This decision was not easy and should not be taken lightly. I hope you understand the seriousness of your actions. Negligence in handling of confidential material is a criminal offense and harms our organization. From this incident, I realized that I must take a more serious action to ensure policies are identified and followed to prevent such actions to occur in the future. Furthermore, I have to make sure that everyone will have to go through the training and briefing the importance of securely managing classified information. If you have any questions or concern regarding this letter, please do not hesitate to ask.
