I want you to understand that what you see when you're looking at a person is not who they are. The way a facial expression is made is not how a person feels. What a person looks like they can or cannot do does not define their ability, it's the way they are able to use the language God blessed them with. Be it verbal or non verbal, communication plays a huge factor in understanding every facet a person may possess, so it must be used wisely.
I'm not here to teach you or judge you. I am only here to share my point of view on how language is important to me, how it has affected me, and how I, unlike the majority of the population, have not taken such a precious possession for granted. The ever changing art of language is one that can never be mastered or perfected; it can only be tweaked and revised, smoothing out the wrinkles of a shifting cultural trend for the time being.
Who I am...Who I'm not
Greetings Reader, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Joseph Wayne Ford Taylor Mays. I am a 27-year-old Afro-Dominican male. I am a homosexual. I am amazing. I am swagalicious and everything in between. I am an English major with the highest aspirations of one day becoming Dr. Taylor. I am a spiritual intellect. I am all that I say I am, and exactly the way God wanted me. This is all; this is who I am.
Contrary to popular belief, I am not "Wheelchair Jimmy". I am not handicapped or disabled; I am simply different. I am not a student with a learning disability; I just have to take my time. I am not a diva; I just know what I want. I am not mean; I am real.
