The Internet has changed how we see Entertainment Media. We used to watch television, mainly, the news and comedies. With the web, we have every kind of show, video game and news show at our fingertips. If people see something, they can upload it from their phone to the web in about three seconds. The Entertainment Media has shaped the American culture in more ways than we can begin to understand. “Television, movies and the Internet, are having an effect on mankind that would have been unimaginable a century ago. The media- print and electronic-shape our lives and our minds in ways fail to realize and with sobering effect”. With the Internet, there’s instant gratification. You get to the story you want immediately, if someone uploads a video you’re interested in, you can access it quickly. The Entertainment Media, isn’t all bad, there are so many good aspects of it. You can use it for school, research so much information. Everyone has used “Google”, UTube or Facebook, and many other reputable sites. We are always on the Internet, more hours than most people need.

The affect of Entertainment Media is mostly positive. Our daily lives is so entwined with the Internet. We use it to stay in touch with our family, traveling, make Doctor’s appointments, and so many other uses. The Media has opened doors for people’s careers. Being able to see the jobs available anywhere at anytime is amazing. Where more aware of news in this country and abroad. We heard about Paris instantly, getting any updates as they were occurring. There are so many books, stories and sites we can utilize without a negative impact.

The negative affects of Entertainment Media, is if a group “spread’s the message”, it can be the cause of a violent outbreak. Being addicted to violent gaming can be so damaging to a person’s life. Children/Teenager’s brains don’t grow the way they should with hours of violent games. Teenage girls following the “skinny” movie star, may feel pressure to lose weight, adding pressure to an already awkward stage of life. They can get Anorexia or Bulemia. By not fitting into what they think they should look like, that thought process can have a negative impact on their life The ads for all the junk food, can also add to childhood obesity. Children see McDonald’s ads and bug the parents for a “Happy Meal”. Not that one “Happy Meal” will cause childhood obesity, but the wrong meal choices, can and will.

Whether the Entertainment Media is a catalyst of Social Behaviors and attitudes, depends on a persons character, morals and ethics. The Internet is here for good, and as long as people do their research on what sites are reputable, and fact based problems could be eliminated. Parents need to be responsible for the amount of time their children are on the
