Project or Service Activity:      Brain Pop and Google Earth

Directions:

Students will be able to recognize and define neighbor and neighborhood.

Who are the people in your neighborhood?

 Identify where are you from?

To increase an understanding of different cultures.

Introduction: Students will look out the window and describe what they see.  I then would have students draw picturesof the area around the school.

Then discuss the school and its surrounding neighborhood.

Activities:

  • Create a listing of objects, bits and pieces and things in the surrounding areas that are joined by others such as the community parks, libraries, etc.). Incorporate Brain pop activity. To explore the world using Google Earth.
  • Compose them on big poster. Pose the question to students as to who they would have confidence in their neighborhood or community to assist them with individual troubles or circumstances,
  • Ask similar questions such as: if the student was alone at home and heard an unfamiliar sound and notice someone walking near your house?

  • Permit the learners to reveal facts about their relatives in their household. Give confidence and persuade learners to be to the point and concise so as to permit everyone time to share).

      Google Earth would be utilized to show and display where their family unit and descendants are from. Learners would contemplate on what they have gain knowledge of and give response and opinion on how they would like to use Google Earth and we will watch a video and complete activity on Population growth in Brain Pop.

        Lastly, I will create a Google Earth "My Places" plan design and sketch of a family unit journey and outing from London, Ontario to Australia, intersecting the Global Date line. Every disembark incorporated time zone facts. This will be the method and means for our learning on time zones.

        Field trips escort children into the earth and globe of scenery. Class learning inside the building gives fundamental ideology and an unyielding basis for additional academic development of the learners. Field trips enhance the life and knowledge of the learners by captivating characteristic rote education into the actual world. These adventures gives learners chances to make use of all their wits as they get to hear, see, touch and go through the world around them even if it is through Google Earth.
