Introduction
The Beetz Vinyl Record store is a standalone brick and mortar retailer, with a focus on the physical location, the idea is to consist of at least 75% music retail. In addition to the physical location, Beetz Vinyl will create a website that will host an online store that will offer music to customers allowing them to discover new types of music, from greatest hits to hard to find rare abstract genres. The online store will connect with the physical store to track feedback and other information for analysis. Information systems will provide a way for important information to be available to both the business and consumer in the appropriate formats. The systems analysis can be used to further develop the company, and assist in planning, management, and forecasting. For Beetz Vinyl it is crucial to implement a functional area IS system, a management information system, transaction processing system, supply chain information system, and an office automation system.
The collaboration of the information systems and the online and physical store will give Beetz a technological advantage making their product available anywhere. The advantage the online store provides, is instant customer feedback, most viewed items, downloads, etc, this allows the systems to track as a separate entity as well as combined with the physical store. This information is crucial to figure out buying patterns, areas that need improvement, finances, and forecasting.
