Imperialism is defined as one country's domination of the political, economic, and social life of another country. Imperialism is bad because the country subjected to imperialism is forced to give up their culture and government. The imposing country usually strips the country of valuable resources. It is an act of aggressively expanding one countries doctrine over other countries. Many can lose their freedom. The European imperialist push into Africa was motivated by three main factors labor force (slavery), cultural confusion, and the poor quality of education.
In some parts of Africa, Europeans would turn local Africans into slaves to work on plantations. When the European manufacturing plants were built, the raw materials from Africa were extracted and the company owners developed an indigenous labor force, which was managed by foreigners. Many tribal leaders became corrupt and would sell their own people into slavery to protect themselves. Others would sign treaties without understanding that they were giving up their freedom.
