Every year there are many Mexican immigrants crossing the United States borders illegally seeking new jobs. There are two reasons that the Mexican's are entering the U.S illegally. These reasons consist of a push and pull theory of economic activity. First the Mexican's take into consideration the push factors of their country. The push factors include one reason that forces the Mexican's to leave their country. This reason is because of institutional changes in the Mexican economic development. The main reason causing the developments is the government is fostering private agricultural development and discouraging peasant agriculture.
The other factor that is causing the Mexican's to immigrate to the United States is the pull factors. The U.S in past years has had one of the strongest economies in the world. There are many opportunities for many people to make money in the U.S. This reason alone is enough of a reason to pull the Mexicans into the United States for better opportunity.
I think the United States is trying to handle the issue but are unsuccessful at the same time. I think that authorities know that the illegal immigration is happening and they cannot control it the way that they want to. I work in the construction field and I have lost many job opportunities because of illegal immigrants under bidding me. This mainly happened about three and four years ago. I also believe that since our economy took a hit a few years ago, this has created the illegal immigrants to go back home.
