In my point of view, the key digital trends are internet, mobile, social media and e-commerce. For internet, it has built some connected dots all over the world. Because the internet users are keep increasing over times, right now in the entire world, there hit the three billion internet users. Companies will promote and doing their business more based on the internet nowadays and consumers are more likely to get information online.

Another digital trend is the mobile. Consumers are going online more with their mobile right now. There are almost two point five billion global smartphone users in the world, and that number keeps increasing. Staring from 2015, the users from mobile platform has already passed the users with computers. From the past year, the minutes that customers consume with tablet and smartphones is 60% over the time that spent on the computer which is 40%. Consumers are mostly go online with their phones and smartphones to do services, entertainment and social media. So, the impact to customers is that they will see more advertisements with their phones and tablets more and more frequency than they will see them on computers.

Another trend is the social media adoption. By 2016, there are two point three billion users, and by 2017, there will be over two point five billion users. The mobile search is creating a dynamic for marketers. With those trends, consumers will more concentrate on digital ads and promotions instead of the original and old fashion ways like paper coupons. The buying power has shifted from the traditional platform to digital platform. Also, consumers have more power to buying things differently, since they can easily go online and get resources and compare with them.
