In the book A Raisin in the Sun Asagai defines the meaning of an idealist and a realist. An idealist is someone that is more of an impractical and creative person. They also usually set more dreams and goals for themselves. They are people that have high ideals. Also a visionary or impractical person. Idealists are usually more optimistic and willing to keep trying when in a tough situation. Where a realist is just the opposite. A realist does not see things the same way that idealists do. A realist is a person who tends to view or represent things as they really are. They are more practical in thinking. I am personally an idealist.
I am an idealist because I do think abstractly and creatively. I beleive that dreams are posssible. It may take some hard work. Achieving your goal is worth it though. People shouldn't be limited by other peoples way of thinking. Your ideals are what set you apart from everybody else. For an example I have always hoped to some day save peoples lives and become a doctor. You must be very smart to have this sort of a profession. I am willing to follow my dreams and keep my mind open for new opportunities that present themselves along the way.
All of my life I have always been a visionary person. I am able to stay true to myself and not let certain parts of the real world get in the way. I will keep my mind open for new things at all time. Hopefully more people can believe in themselves and their own ideas and be an idealist too. People should always set goals for themselves and strive to achieve them. Hard work and perseverance can lead to success and future opportunities. I am sure that I will always be an idealist.
