Garrett A. Morgan was born on March 4, 1877 in Paris, Kentucky. His mother and father were former slaves. Garrett A. Morgan went to school and also worked on his family farm. Garrett A. Morgan never went to College. He only had an elementary school education. Garrett A. Morgan invented the traffic light. I like Garrett A. Morgan because he invented the traffic light to help stop car accidents. I want to be able to become a successful African American like Garrett A. Morgan. I know that my education will be important in reaching that goal. Even though Mr. Morgan did not have a college education, he worked hard with inventing things to protect the people in the United States. Garrett A. Morgan makes me proud to be an African American.
