Organizations should establish organizational goals and objectives requiring employees regardless of their level to think as leaders. This permits employees to see themselves as someone who can make a difference in their organization. A coaching system should be established so that employees at all levels can have someone they can help them within the organization. This allows for a better understanding of some of the organizational expectations and also answers questions employees may have in general about their job. Sharing knowledge among employees is imperative to be successful - organizations want to avoid knowledge hoarding. One of the most important tools an organization can have is empowering employees to do the right thing by giving them a voice - employees should have the ability to share ideas and concerns. Leaders in general should be coached to have an open mind - this will help them to develop a relationship with their employees with an open mind. This allows for a positive exchange of information based on collaboration and trust which ultimately leads to a successful organizational environment.
If organizations meet the above requirements, employees will ultimately know what to look for either by asking questions or simply by leveraging information from other sources to come up with innovative answers which can allow them to recognize imminent threats and or opportunities that can harm and or help their oganizaiton.
According to .....employees who are empowered tend to feel they can share their ideas and concerns to their leaders without being penalized. Employees care about the health of their organization which encourages them think more innovative.
