As a Army Recruiter I've been ask this question many time after eleven years, I've found that every Job, or Military Occupational Specialty(MOS) has its dangers. In the Army we use a composite Risk Assessment every time there is a mission and in daily works.

The composite risk management I learned during my military service is as follows.

There are five steps within composite risk management, which is a decision-making process used to mitigate risks associated with all hazards.

Step 1 - identify the hazards.

Step 2 - assess hazards to determine risk.

Step 3 - develop controls and make risk decisions.

Step 4 - implement controls.

Step 5 - supervise and evaluate.

Steps 1 and 2 are assessment steps, steps 3 through 5 are management (Department of the Army, 2006).

As for our most Dangerous MOS's here are the two that will kill you if you don't follow proper risk management;

Explosive ordnance disposal: When there's an explosive device that needs to be disarmed, a chemical weapon that has to be diffused or the threat of any type of weapon of mass destruction emerges, the Army's explosive ordnance disposal, or EOD unit gets the call. Trained to perform in any situation that may come up, they conduct demolition of hazardous munitions, pyrotechnics, and retrograde explosives using detonation and burning techniques. Members of this highly technical operation undergo a rigorous selection process to prepare them for the physical and mental stress of potentially deadly daily assignments.

Delta Force

Probably one of the most heralded but also most secretive military operations is Delta Force, also known as "The Unit." Registered as one of only a handful of elite "Tier 1" military sectors, Delta Force teams are highly skilled three-to-six member teams assigned to the most dangerous counter terrorism situations. Since it the unit was established in 1977, Delta Force members have been known as the best marksmen in the armed forces and have their own mini army at their disposal, including an aviation regiment The 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (S.O.A.R) Delta Force candidates are selected on an invitation-only basis, usually from the Green Beret or Ranger divisions.

Now to the most dangerous part of my MOS as a Recruiter I'm in the public eye every day and in the age of home grown terrorist work in close proximity to Washing D.C. Every Solider is a potential target for both love and hate. As for me the most dangerous thing I do every day is drive to work.
