Entrepreneurship: Take an entrepreneur to lunch
For this assignment, I decided to have a discussion with Eric Baille, one of the founder of Adesias, the first ludo-pedagogic communication agency in France. Founded in 2010, they received the prize of “Start-up of the year” in 2014 for their online videos works. Since several years I was following their projects and wanted to know more about how two students from business schools could change the environment of communication in France.

What is his/her background?
Eric Baille comes from the EM Lyon Business School, one of the bests business school in France. That is where he first met his future partner at work, Samir Malki. “I wasn’t interested in working in one of this big company, and after an internship in the bank sector, I knew that I wanted to build my own thing to express my creativity.” , said Eric, who was also fond of cinema and filming. He met Samir, who was drawing a lot during his spare time, in their cinema association, and that is how Adesias started. They started to work with the communication service of the city of Lyon, where their school was located. After a year in Lyon, their work started to be famous all around the country, thanks to the simplicity of the drawings from Samir and the humor in the scripts of Eric. They never did client prospection, and only had new customers thanks to word of mouth, initiated by viral videos on subjects that interested the two founders of Adesias. After their graduation, they decided to move to Paris, to be nearer to the multinational headquarters that needed their service. Since then, they are working with multinational companies, such as Michelin, but also start-ups and NGOs. The company has kept its original simplicity in making videos and in its way of working.
What is his business and how did this person come up with the idea for that?
The business is a ludic and pedagogic communication agency. Adesias is specialized in animated videos, for intern and extern communication. The idea came from a statement that Eric and Samir did: “The lack of originality of communication campaigns in France was obvious, we had a huge segment to cover: offer affordable viral communication campaigns that are CLEAR and SIMPLE to understand for everyone.”
In your own analysis, what are the characteristics that make him an entrepreneur?
